The subject of the article is a recipient of the Order of Canada. By definition, this is more than sufficient for notability so feel free to withdraw that issue at your convenience. Most of the references are taken from published books (remember those? lol). These are as reliable as it gets - just because you can't find the content on the internet does not really mean much. The article is pretty well researched and referenced in my opinion. Question for Brossow: Which specific statements need additional references? maybe I can help? What the article needs is more citations in Early Life and also the citations should be in proper wikipedia format.
